Summit Twp, PA (November 17, 2024) – Emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Rt 422 and Bonniebrook Rd on Sunday evening. The collision occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m., prompting the dispatch of fire stations 10, 9, and 44 to the scene.

Initial reports suggested possible entrapment; however, first responders from Station 44-1 arrived on-site by 8:55 p.m. and confirmed there was no entrapment involved. The vehicles involved were located in the middle of the intersection, obstructing traffic flow. Additional units, including RQ-9 and RQ-10, arrived shortly thereafter to assist with managing the scene.

Traffic was filtered into a single eastbound lane to ensure the safety of other motorists while emergency crews worked to clear the area. Medics with Station 44-1 transported two individuals to Butler Memorial Hospital (BMH) for treatment of a variety of injuries. The condition of the injured individuals has not been disclosed. Local authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by this incident, and we hope for a full recovery for the injured individuals.
