Summit Twp, PA (November 17, 2024) – Emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Rt 422 and Bonniebrook Rd on Sunday evening. The collision occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m., prompting the dispatch of fire stations 10, 9, and 44 to the scene.
Initial reports suggested possible entrapment; however, first responders from Station 44-1 arrived on-site by 8:55 p.m. and confirmed there was no entrapment involved. The vehicles involved were located in the middle of the intersection, obstructing traffic flow. Additional units, including RQ-9 and RQ-10, arrived shortly thereafter to assist with managing the scene.
Traffic was filtered into a single eastbound lane to ensure the safety of other motorists while emergency crews worked to clear the area. Medics with Station 44-1 transported two individuals to Butler Memorial Hospital (BMH) for treatment of a variety of injuries. The condition of the injured individuals has not been disclosed. Local authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision.
