Summit Township, PA (October 23, 2024) – A two-vehicle motor vehicle accident (MVA) occurred on Wednesday evening at approximately 7:54 p.m. near Steve’s Auto Body, located at 178 Oneida Valley Road. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene following reports of injuries involving two vehicles.
Upon arrival at 8:01 p.m., units from Stations 10, 1, 44, and 99 found both vehicles upright, with all occupants apparently out of their vehicles. Initial assessments indicated that two injuries resulted from the collision.
As the situation developed, EMS unit 99-2 requested an aircraft to be put in the air for transport to the Butler Memorial Hospital (BMH) helipad, as directed by the medic command at BMH. Control confirmed that Stat 6 would respond, with an estimated time of arrival of approximately 19 minutes.
By 8:15 p.m., EMS unit 99-2 began transporting the injured individuals to the helipad to meet the incoming air medical team. Station 1 cleared the scene shortly after, and by 8:20 p.m., Stat 6 was airborne from their base at the Clarion County Airport.
At 8:21 p.m., EMS unit 99-2 arrived at the helipad, where they awaited the helicopter’s arrival. Stat 6 landed at BMH at approximately 8:37 p.m., and the incident was officially terminated at 8:41 p.m. Reports indicated that Stat 6 was airborne again at 8:56 p.m., likely returning to their base after completing the transport.
