Sugar Land, TX (September 2, 2024) – A devastating wrong-way crash early Monday, September 2 resulted in two deaths and one serious injury. The accident occurred shortly after 3 a.m. on U.S. 90, near Gillingham Ln, just east of Eldridge Rd. Police confirmed that both drivers involved in the collision were killed.

According to authorities, a Honda Pilot was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of U.S. 90 when it collided head-on with a Toyota Highlander carrying two occupants. The force of the impact led to the deaths of both SUV drivers. The passenger in the Toyota Highlander survived but was critically injured.

Emergency responders transported the injured passenger to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition. The investigation into the cause of the wrong-way crash is ongoing, as police work to determine what led to this tragic event.
