Staten Island, NY (February 24, 2025) – A tragic boating accident off Staten Island left three people dead, two critically injured, and one person still missing after a vessel capsized in the Ambrose Channel on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say the U.S. Coast Guard, FDNY, and NYPD responded to a distress call around 12 p.m. and pulled five individuals from the water. Four of them were found unconscious. Despite rescue efforts, three victims were pronounced dead, while two others remain in critical condition at a nearby hospital.
