St. Louis, MO (November 27, 2024) – Emergency responders were dispatched to a crash on Westbound I-70, just west of Jennings Station Road, on Wednesday morning. The collision involved two vehicles, a 2005 Ford Escape and a 2007 Chrysler Sebring, resulting in one injury.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 9:40 AM when the 2005 Ford Escape, driven by a 19-year-old male from St. Louis, made an unsafe lane change. The rear left side of the Ford Escape struck the front right side of the Chrysler Sebring, which was also traveling westbound. The Ford Escape subsequently veered off the left side of the roadway, hitting the concrete median, before returning to the road and ultimately striking the concrete barrier on the right side.
The 19-year-old male driver of the Ford Escape sustained injuries and was transported by Northeast Fire Protection to Barnes Jewish Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Chrysler Sebring, a 21-year-old male from St. Louis, was not injured and was able to drive his vehicle from the scene.
Both vehicles were secured roadside, with the Ford Escape sustaining moderate damage while the Chrysler Sebring experienced minor damage. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
