St. Louis, MO (March 10, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision on Interstate 55 south of Reavis Barracks Road left one person injured Sunday morning. The crash, which occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m., resulted in significant vehicle damage and required emergency response.

According to authorities, a 2008 Acura TL struck the rear of a 2019 Ford Escape as both vehicles traveled southbound. The force of the impact left the Acura with total damage, while the Ford Escape sustained moderate damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Miners Towing.

The driver of the Ford Escape, a 25-year-old woman from Wilsonville, OR, sustained injuries in the crash. Emergency responders from the Mehlville Fire Protection District provided medical assistance before transporting her to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and officials have not yet released further details regarding the driver of the Acura.

We hope for the injured victim’s full recovery and encourage all drivers to remain cautious on Missouri roadways.

Rear-End Collisions in Missouri

Rear-end crashes are one of the most frequent types of accidents on Missouri highways, often leading to vehicle damage and injuries ranging from minor to severe. These crashes typically occur due to factors such as distracted driving, sudden braking, or following too closely. In many cases, the driver who strikes another vehicle from behind is found at fault for failing to maintain a safe distance.

Missouri law requires drivers to operate their vehicles at a safe following distance to prevent collisions. When a rear-end crash occurs, liability is often determined based on whether the striking driver was inattentive, speeding, or engaging in reckless behavior.

Victims of rear-end accidents may be entitled to compensation for medical expenses, vehicle repairs, and other damages. Seeking legal guidance can help injured parties understand their rights and navigate the claims process effectively.

As authorities continue to investigate this crash, drivers are reminded to stay vigilant, avoid distractions, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles on the road.
