St. Louis, MO (February 20, 2025) – A three-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 70, just west of Missouri 141, resulted in injuries Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred at approximately 10:00 a.m. when a 2010 Toyota Corolla, driven by a 38-year-old man from St. Charles, MO, was traveling too fast for road conditions. The vehicle began to slide counterclockwise, crossing multiple lanes of traffic before entering the path of a 2015 Ford F-150, driven by a 37-year-old man from Lake Saint Louis, MO. The Ford struck the rear of the Toyota, pushing it further into traffic, where it collided with the front left side of a 2024 Freightliner Cascadia, operated by a 33-year-old man from Visalia, CA.
Emergency responders from the Robertson Fire Protection District arrived at the scene and provided medical assistance. The drivers of the Toyota Corolla and Ford F-150 sustained moderate injuries and were transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital for further evaluation. The Freightliner driver was uninjured and was able to drive away from the scene.
Both the Toyota Corolla and Ford F-150 sustained moderate to extensive damage and were towed from the scene by A1 Towing. The crash remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with those injured, and we wish them a speedy recovery.
Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Missouri
Multi-vehicle crashes, particularly on high-speed roadways like I-70, often result in serious injuries due to the chain-reaction impact between vehicles. Factors such as speeding, wet or icy conditions, and heavy traffic congestion contribute to these incidents, increasing the risk of injury.
When a vehicle loses control and crosses multiple lanes, the potential for severe crashes rises significantly, especially when commercial trucks are involved. Large trucks, like the Freightliner in this incident, require longer stopping distances, making it more difficult to avoid sudden hazards.
Victims of multi-vehicle accidents often face medical expenses, vehicle repairs, and time away from work, creating financial and emotional challenges. Seeking medical attention, documenting the incident, and exploring legal options can help ensure proper support and compensation for recovery.
If you or a loved one has been injured in a multi-vehicle crash, taking the right steps now can help you secure the resources you need. Seeking medical and legal guidance can provide clarity and support in the recovery process.
