St. Louis, MO (January 20, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 eastbound, west of US-67, left two individuals injured and caused significant damage to one vehicle. The accident occurred around 8:45 AM and involved a 2014 Ford Fusion, a 2020 Tesla Model 3, and a 2023 Volvo VNR.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash began when the Ford Fusion, driven by a 16-year-old male from Maryland Heights, MO, made an unsafe lane change from lane two to lane one. The left rear of the Ford struck the right front of the Tesla. The impact caused the teen driver to lose control of the Ford, which then struck the left side of the towed unit of the Volvo.
The occupant of the Tesla, a 34-year-old female from East St. Louis, IL, sustained injuries and was transported to SSM Health DePaul Hospital by Pattonville Fire and EMS for treatment. The 16-year-old driver of the Ford was uninjured but his vehicle was totaled and secured roadside. The Volvo suffered minor damage and was driven from the scene, while the Tesla was towed by A2B Towing.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
