St. Louis, MO (December 2, 2024) – A rear-end collision occurred at 7:00 AM on December 2, 2024, on the northbound lanes of Interstate 55, south of Butler Hill Road. Emergency responders from Mehlville Fire Protection quickly arrived at the scene. The incident involved three vehicles: a 2017 Kia Sportage, a 2022 Jeep Wrangler, and a 2005 Chevrolet Impala. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 26-year-old male driver of the Kia Sportage failed to observe the stopped vehicles ahead, causing a collision that pushed the Jeep Wrangler into the rear of the Chevrolet Impala. The driver of the Kia sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital South by Mehlville Fire Protection. The 39-year-old female driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries and was privately conveyed to Mercy Hospital South.
