St. Louis, MO (September 9, 2024) – A pedestrian accident on Interstate 270 west of Highway 367 resulted in a fatality early Sunday, September 8. The incident occurred around 12:10 a.m. when 24-year-old Keionna A. Shelton from Florissant, MO, was struck by a 2012 Toyota Camry driven by 34-year-old Steven J. Abbinante from Wentzville, MO. Shelton was pronounced dead at the scene by Blackjack Fire personnel.

The driver, Abbinante, was eastbound on the highway and sustained no injuries. The vehicle was towed due to moderate damage.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident, with updates expected as the inquiry continues.
