St. Louis, MO (February 20, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 70 at Bermuda Ave resulted in injuries Wednesday morning.
According to authorities, the accident occurred at approximately 7:20 a.m. when a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 26-year-old woman from Stanton, IL, lost control due to excessive speed for the conditions. The vehicle slid into the path of a 2022 Peterbilt truck, driven by a 67-year-old man from Randolph, WI. The truck struck the rear of the Equinox, forcing it into the concrete median divider.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, and the driver of the Chevrolet Equinox sustained injuries. She was transported to Christian Hospital Northeast by ambulance for treatment. The driver of the Peterbilt was not injured and was able to drive away from the scene.
The Chevrolet Equinox sustained moderate damage and was removed by A2B Towing, while the Peterbilt had only minor damage. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
Our thoughts are with the injured driver, and we wish her a full recovery.
Speed-Related Accidents in Missouri
Driving too fast for road conditions is a major contributor to crashes, especially on highways like I-70. When roads are wet, icy, or congested, excessive speed can lead to skidding, loss of control, and collisions with other vehicles or fixed objects.
Large trucks, such as the Peterbilt involved in this crash, require longer stopping distances and can cause severe damage in collisions. Even minor injuries from such accidents can result in lasting effects, requiring medical care and recovery time.
For those injured in speed-related crashes, medical bills, lost income, and vehicle repairs can create significant financial burdens. Seeking medical attention, documenting the accident, and exploring legal options can help ensure a smoother recovery process.
If you or a loved one has been involved in a crash due to dangerous road conditions or excessive speed, seeking professional guidance can help you navigate the next steps and secure the support you need.
