St. Louis, MO (January 29, 2025) – A woman was injured early Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 170, just south of Page Avenue, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:02 a.m. when a 2010 Chevrolet Impala, driven by a 32-year-old man from St. Louis, began experiencing mechanical issues and started shaking uncontrollably. The driver lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off the roadway to the right and collide with a guardrail. The impact forced the car back onto the highway, where it re-entered the lanes of traffic and struck the right side of a 2018 Chevrolet Impala driven by a 72-year-old man, also from St. Louis.
A 37-year-old female passenger in the first vehicle sustained moderate injuries in the crash. Emergency responders from the Community Fire Protection District transported her to SSM Health DePaul Hospital for treatment.
The 2010 Chevrolet Impala sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by A2B Towing. The 2018 Chevrolet Impala had minor damage and was able to be driven away.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
We extend our thoughts to the injured woman and wish her a full recovery.
