St. Louis, MO (February 16, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision occurred late Saturday night on westbound Interstate 64 at Clayton Rd, leaving two individuals injured and causing extensive vehicle damage.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 11:17 p.m. when a Jeep Compass, driven by a 17-year-old male from St. Louis, MO, and a 2012 Nissan Altima, driven by a 20-year-old male from St. Louis, made improper lane changes. As a result, the Jeep Compass collided with the front driver’s side of a 2024 Volkswagen Taos, operated by a 31-year-old male from St. Louis. The impact caused the Jeep Compass to strike a 2020 Acura RDX, driven by a 79-year-old male from Wildwood, MO.
The collision escalated as the Nissan Altima struck the front passenger side of the Acura RDX, leading the Nissan to slide and crash into a guardrail.
Emergency responders from the Brentwood Fire Protection District arrived at the scene and transported the 17-year-old Jeep driver to Mercy Hospital St. Louis with minor injuries. The 79-year-old Acura driver sustained moderate injuries and was also transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for further treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the Jeep Compass driver was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. The vehicles involved sustained varying levels of damage, with the Jeep Compass, Nissan Altima, and Acura RDX suffering extensive damage, while the Volkswagen Taos had moderate damage. All vehicles were towed from the scene by McNamara’s Towing.
