St. Louis, MO (February 27, 2025) – A chain-reaction crash involving four vehicles on westbound Missouri 30, east of Route PP, resulted in injuries to one driver on February 26.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 3:51 p.m. when traffic slowed ahead. The crash began when a 14-year-old female driver of a 2019 GMC Terrain, traveling westbound, failed to observe that traffic had stopped. The GMC struck the rear of a 2014 Kia Rio, driven by a 41-year-old man from High Ridge, MO. The force of the impact caused the Kia to strike the rear of a 2019 Ford Mustang, driven by a 46-year-old man from Hillsboro, MO. The Mustang, in turn, collided with a 2011 Ford Escape, driven by an 18-year-old woman from House Springs, MO.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to assist those involved. The driver of the Kia Rio sustained injuries and was transported to SSM St. Clare Hospital by the North West Jefferson County Ambulance District. No other injuries were reported.
The GMC Terrain and Kia Rio both sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene by High Ridge Auto Repair. The Ford Mustang and Ford Escape sustained minor damage, with the Mustang being secured at a nearby Circle K, and the Escape driven away from the scene.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash, and no further details have been released.
Our thoughts are with the injured driver, and we wish them a full recovery.
Rear-End Collisions in Missouri
Rear-end collisions are one of the most common types of crashes on Missouri roadways, particularly in high-traffic areas. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, inattentive driving, following too closely, and sudden traffic slowdowns are among the leading causes of multi-vehicle chain-reaction crashes.
Even minor rear-end accidents can lead to injuries, vehicle damage, and costly medical expenses. Missouri follows an at-fault insurance system, meaning that injured parties may seek compensation from the driver responsible for causing the crash.
If you or a loved one has been injured in a rear-end or multi-vehicle accident, seeking medical care and legal guidance can help ensure that you receive the compensation you deserve.
