St. Louis, MO (November 18, 2024) – Emergency responders were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision on eastbound Interstate 270 near West Florissant Ave on Saturday evening. The crash, which occurred around 6:10 PM, involved three vehicles and left one person with reported injuries.
According to authorities, a 2015 Ford Explorer, a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu, and a 2012 Ford F-150 were traveling eastbound when the incident took place. The collision began when the driver of the Ford Explorer, a 57-year-old woman from Maryville, IL, reportedly failed to maintain proper attention to the roadway. The front of her vehicle struck the rear of the Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 19-year-old male from Lake St. Louis, MO. Following the initial impact, the Explorer veered into a neighboring lane, where it collided with the side of the Ford F-150, driven by a 46-year-old male from Highland, IL.
The Chevrolet Malibu sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by A2B Towing. The Ford Explorer, which suffered moderate damage, was also towed. The Ford F-150, with moderate damage, was able to be driven from the location.
An occupant of the Malibu, a 50-year-old female from Lake St. Louis, MO, suffered injuries and was transported by Christian EMS to Barnes-Jewish Hospital for treatment. All involved individuals were wearing safety devices except for the injured occupant, who was not restrained at the time of the crash.
The St. Louis Fire and Rescue team, along with officers from Troop C, responded promptly to manage traffic and assist the injured. Investigations are ongoing to determine if further actions are warranted.
