St. George, UT (November 12, 2024) – A T-bone collision at the intersection of West Sunset Boulevard and North Dixie Downs Road left two people injured on Sunday evening. The crash occurred at approximately 7:37 p.m. in a construction zone and was witnessed by a nearby St. George Police officer approaching from the east.
According to police reports, the crash involved a red pickup truck and a black SUV. The pickup, driven by a male juvenile with two young male passengers, was heading north on Dixie Downs Rd. While making a left turn onto Sunset Blvd, the driver failed to yield to the oncoming SUV traveling southbound, resulting in the collision.
The SUV’s occupants, a husband and wife, sustained injuries. The husband reported neck and back pain, while the wife experienced chest pain from the impact. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the pickup truck received a citation for failing to yield.
The intersection was blocked as emergency responders, including the St. George Fire Department, the St. George Police Department, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and Gold Cross, managed the scene and provided assistance.
