St. Francois, MO (September 8, 2024) – A severe multi-vehicle accident occurred on Saturday, September 7, on Route K near Saffel Road. The crash involved three cars: a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta, an 2018 Dodge Challenger, and a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier. Trooper Z. Crumley reported the Jetta attempted a risky overtake on a blind curve, colliding head-on with the Cavalier.

Eight individuals sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious. The most critically injured was a 17-year-old from Ottumwa, IA, airlifted to SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. Others were transported to various medical facilities in the area.
