St. Francis, KS (November 6, 2024) – An accident occurred early Wednesday morning, November 6, 2024, at approximately 3:35 a.m. on northbound K-25 highway, about 10 miles northwest of St. Francis in Rawlins County. The incident resulted in three individuals being taken to the hospital for evaluation.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2007 Saturn Vue was traveling north on K-25 when the driver, 25-year-old Lawrence Stephen Longwolf from Vacaville, California, fell asleep at the wheel. Upon waking, he realized the vehicle was veering off the right side of the roadway. In an attempt to regain control, Longwolf over-corrected to the left, causing the vehicle to cross into the southbound lane and enter the west ditch sideways. The Saturn Vue then rolled one and a half times before coming to rest on its passenger side.
Emergency responders transported all three occupants of the vehicle to Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood following the crash. The individuals involved were identified as follows: Lawrence Stephen Longwolf, who reported no apparent injuries; passenger Kylie R. Cisco, 23, from Anadarko, Oklahoma, who sustained suspected minor injuries; and 1-year-old Sahiyela Longwolf, also from Anadarko, who was reported to be uninjured. Fortunately, all occupants were wearing their safety restraints at the time of the accident.
Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this incident, and we wish the injured a swift recovery.
