St. Charles, MO (November 21, 2024) – A rear-end collision involving two vehicles occurred Wednesday afternoon on Highway 79, just north of Dalbow Rd. The crash, reported at approximately 12:15 PM, resulted in injuries to one driver.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2019 Volvo VNL driven by a 26-year-old male from Sioux Falls, SD, failed to stop in time and struck the rear of a 2017 Nissan Versa. The Nissan was slowing to make a turn when the collision occurred. Both vehicles were traveling northbound at the time.
The driver of the Nissan, a 19-year-old female from St. Peters, MO, sustained injuries and was transported by St. Charles County Ambulance District to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis for treatment. The Volvo driver was uninjured. Both vehicles sustained minor damage, with the Nissan secured roadside and the Volvo driven from the scene.
Troopers, including Tpr. M.S. Ogborn and Tpr. B.W. Katzing, were on-site to assist with the investigation. Traffic in the area was briefly disrupted as emergency crews addressed the situation.
