St. Charles, MO – One Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-70 Near Cave Springs Rd

St. Charles, MO (September 12, 2024) – A multi-vehicle crash on eastbound I-70 west of Cave Springs Rd left one person seriously injured. The accident occurred on Wednesday when traffic congestion caused vehicles to brake suddenly. A 2021 Toyota Sienna struck a Ford Explorer, which was then pushed into a Jeep Liberty.

A Harley-Davidson Street Glide, driven by 59-year-old Lawrence J. Mueller of Wentzville, then struck the rear of the Toyota. Mueller sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital by St. Charles County EMS.

The other drivers involved, including David Jimenez Gomez, 24, and Paul Vaccaro, 53, were not injured. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash. Further details will be provided as the inquiry progresses.
