Springfield Township, MI (November 22, 2024) – A tragic two-car collision on Dixie Highway claimed the life of a 34-year-old Groveland Township woman, Renee Marie Vilders, Wednesday evening. The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. near the intersection with Holly Rd, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials reported that Vilders was driving a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound on Holly Rd when she ran a stop sign at Dixie Highway, colliding with a 2023 GMC Sierra pickup truck driven by a 64-year-old man from Groveland Township. Both vehicles veered off the road and crashed into nearby trees. Vilders’ vehicle overturned and landed on its side.
Emergency responders pronounced Vilders dead at the scene. The driver of the GMC Sierra sustained injuries, but his condition has not been disclosed.
