Failure to Yield Accidents in Missouri
Failure to yield is a common cause of accidents in Missouri, particularly at busy intersections where visibility and timing are crucial. Left-turn collisions, like the one on US 160, often occur when a driver misjudges the speed of oncoming traffic or fails to see an approaching vehicle. These crashes can lead to significant injuries, even when the impact is at lower speeds.
In Missouri, all drivers must yield to oncoming traffic when making a left turn, ensuring the roadway is clear before proceeding. Unfortunately, when a driver does not follow this rule, accidents like this one can happen, putting lives at risk.
While the injuries in this incident were classified as minor, even low-impact crashes can lead to lingering pain, medical expenses, and lost time at work. Seeking medical attention after an accident is always important to rule out underlying injuries that may not be immediately apparent.
If you or someone you love has been hurt in a car accident due to another driver’s failure to yield, legal options may be available to help recover compensation for medical costs and other damages.
