Springfield, MA (January 29, 2025) – Firefighters responded to a four-vehicle crash on East Columbus Ave Tuesday afternoon, rescuing two trapped occupants and transporting multiple victims to the hospital.
According to Springfield Fire Captain Drew Piemonte, emergency crews arrived at the scene near 501 East Columbus Ave at approximately 1:11 p.m. Firefighters worked to extricate two people who were trapped in their vehicle due to the collision.
A total of five individuals sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, all are expected to recover. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Traffic in the area was temporarily impacted as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
