Springfield, IL (September 7, 2024) – A severe collision on East Lake Shore Drive resulted in serious injuries to two motorcyclists on Thursday at 9:21 PM. Illinois State Police report that Michael A. Egan, 50, of Springfield, was driving north when he failed to yield and turned left in front of a southbound motorcycle.

Both the motorcycle’s driver and passenger were ejected and subsequently hospitalized with significant injuries. Authorities are investigating the crash, and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
