Springdale, OH (September 6, 2024) – A fatal accident occurred on Friday morning, September 6. Involving a semi truck and a sanitation truck on I-275 near Springfield Pike. The incident took place around 10:15 a.m. when a sanitation truck, pulled over on the side of the road, was struck by a semi exiting the interstate. The sanitation truck hit its driver, Darren Hayes, 57, who was outside the vehicle at the time.

Hayes was trapped under the truck’s right rear tires and died at the scene. The driver of the semi truck was not injured.
