Spring Hill, FL (November 4, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred Sunday night involving an ATV, leading to the death of a passenger and the subsequent arrest of the driver. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place around 8:48 p.m. on a private road behind a Sunoco Gas Station located at 16621 Shady Hills Road.
According to investigators, 32-year-old Ford K. Perkins was operating a Polaris side-by-side ATV when he began driving in circles. Witnesses indicated that he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn. The 35-year-old man sitting in the front passenger seat was ejected from the ATV during the incident. Tragically, the ATV then traveled over the victim, who succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
