Spokane Valley, WA (November 20, 2024) – Washington State Patrol (WSP) is investigating a deadly two-car crash that occurred late Tuesday morning at the intersection of East Trent Ave and North Park Rd. The collision tragically claimed the life of a 64-year-old man and disrupted traffic in the area for several hours.
According to WSP, the incident occurred when a car traveling south on Park Rd at Trent entered the intersection and was struck by another vehicle heading west on Trent Ave. The impact of the collision resulted in fatal injuries for the southbound driver, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
WSP has determined that the crash was caused by a failure to yield. The names of those involved have not been released pending family notifications.
The crash caused significant traffic disruptions, with all westbound lanes blocked and eastbound lanes split to allow traffic to pass in both directions. WSP advised drivers to seek alternate routes and to remain patient as investigators worked to gather evidence and clear the scene. The roadway has since been reopened.
The Spokane Valley community extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim during this difficult time.
