Spartanburg County, SC (March 6, 2025) – A driver was killed, and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning at the intersection of Highway 101 and Apple Valley Rd, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 12:20 a.m. when a minivan turning right onto Highway 101 from Apple Valley Rd was struck by another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased driver as 42-year-old Bobby Wayne Freeman Jr. of Spartanburg. The driver of the minivan sustained injuries, though authorities have not provided an update on their condition.
Traffic in the area was affected as emergency crews worked to assist victims and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
