Sparta Twp., PA (January 17, 2025) – A two-car crash involving an ambulance at the intersection of State Highways 89 and 77 sent four people to the hospital on Friday evening. The incident occurred around 7 p.m., according to reports from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) in Corry.
Authorities stated that the crash happened when an ambulance traveling on Highway 77 failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a pickup truck traveling on Highway 89 as it entered the intersection. Emergency responders, including the Spartansburg Volunteer Fire Department, EmergyCare, and the Bloomfield Township Volunteer Fire Department, quickly arrived to assist at the scene.
The ambulance driver, a second crew member, and a patient being transported in the ambulance all suffered moderate injuries and were taken to Corry Memorial Hospital. The driver of the pickup truck, who initially refused medical transport, was later taken to the same hospital via a private vehicle. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by PSP Corry.
