Somerville, OH (October 18, 2024) – A devastating car accident occurred early Thursday morning, resulting in the death of a 16-year-old boy and leaving his 13-year-old sister in critical condition. The tragic incident took place around 6:30 a.m. in the 6700 block of West Elkton Road as the siblings were on their way to school.
According to deputies, the 16-year-old was driving a 2005 Pontiac with his younger sister as a passenger when he veered over the center line and collided head-on with a 2013 Chevrolet Suburban. The Suburban was driven by a 60-year-old man, who, along with the 13-year-old girl, suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was subsequently flown to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment.
