Somerset, NY – Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident at Lake Rd and Carmen Rd

Somerset, NY (September 11, 2024) – A fatal crash occurred on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Lake Rd and Carmen Rd. A 2024 Nissan, driven by 78-year-old Louis A. Greenwald of Lake Wales, FL, failed to yield and was struck by a 2019 GMC driven by 77-year-old Earl H. Foster of Wilson, NY.

The GMC went off-road into a nearby cornfield, while the Nissan came to a stop at the intersection. Greenwald was airlifted to ECMC, where he was pronounced dead. Foster was transported by ambulance to Lockport Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Authorities continue investigating the cause of the accident and will provide further updates as the investigation progresses.
