Pedestrian Accidents and Highway Safety in Washington
Pedestrian accidents on highways are especially dangerous due to high speeds, limited visibility, and the difficulty of drivers stopping in time to avoid a collision. Washington law requires motorists to exercise caution and be aware of pedestrians near roadways, but pedestrians should also avoid crossing high-traffic areas whenever possible.
Drivers are urged to remain alert, especially in early morning or late-night hours when visibility is reduced. Additionally, semi-trucks require longer stopping distances, making pedestrian encounters on highways even more dangerous.
If you or a loved one has been affected by a pedestrian accident, seeking medical attention, documenting the scene, and consulting with professionals can help guide you through the recovery process.
