Smiths Grove, KY (January 27, 2025) – Emergency crews, including Smiths Grove EMS and Kentucky State Police (KSP), responded to an injury accident on I-65 northbound near mile marker 40 late Sunday night. The collision involved a semi-truck that struck a white Kia Sorento and left the scene.
According to reports, the Kia Sorento was able to pull over to the side of the road following the collision. The driver requested medical evaluation at the scene, and EMS arrived to provide assistance. The extent of injuries to the driver or any passengers in the Kia has not been disclosed at this time.
KSP is investigating the incident as a hit-and-run and is working to identify and locate the semi-truck involved. Traffic on I-65 NB was impacted temporarily as emergency crews attended to the scene and assisted those involved.
