Slidell, LA (March 3, 2025) – A 28-year-old pedestrian, Justin Warren of Clearwater, Florida, was killed in a hit-and-run crash on LA 433 near Liberty Oaks Ln early Saturday morning. Authorities have since arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal collision.
According to Louisiana State Police Troop L, the crash occurred shortly after 5:00 a.m. on March 1, 2025. Evidence from the scene and witness statements indicated that Warren was struck by a gold-colored Ford F-150 pickup truck, which fled the scene immediately after the impact.
With assistance from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police Fusion Center, authorities later identified the suspect vehicle as a 2012 Ford F-150 registered to 45-year-old Tyrone Williams of Slidell.
Investigators determined that Williams was driving westbound on LA 433 when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle’s right front bumper struck Warren, who was in the westbound lane at the time. Williams fled the scene, leaving Warren critically injured.
Emergency responders transported Warren to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities arrested Tyrone Williams at his residence and booked him into the St. Tammany Parish Jail. He faces charges of:
- Negligent Homicide
- Hit and Run
- Driving on the Right Side of the Roadway
At this time, it remains unclear whether impairment or other factors contributed to the crash. Toxicology samples were collected and are pending analysis. The investigation is ongoing.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Justin Warren during this difficult time.
Pedestrian Accidents in Louisiana
Pedestrian-involved crashes often result in catastrophic injuries or fatalities, particularly when hit-and-run incidents prevent victims from receiving immediate medical attention. Louisiana roadways, including LA 433, pose risks for pedestrians, especially in low-visibility conditions, areas without sidewalks, or high-speed zones.
Pedestrians are among the most vulnerable road users, and drivers have a legal responsibility to exercise caution and remain at the scene after a collision. When motorists flee the scene, it delays life-saving medical intervention and adds criminal consequences to an already tragic event.
Law enforcement urges all drivers to stay alert, avoid distractions, and remain at the scene if involved in an accident. Authorities continue to investigate this case and will determine any additional factors that led to the deadly crash.
If you or a loved one has been affected by a pedestrian accident, you may have legal options to seek justice. Contact Local Accident Reports to learn more about available resources and the next steps to protect your rights.
