Simsbury, CT (November 7, 2024) – A serious incident occurred Wednesday evening when a garage and car fire broke out on Quorn Hill Road, resulting in burn injuries to an individual. Emergency responders received reports of the structure fire at approximately 4:40 p.m. and quickly arrived at the scene.
Neighbors and first responders worked together to assist a person who sustained burn injuries in the fire. The injured individual was promptly transported to the hospital via LifeStar helicopter. At this time, the extent of their injuries remains unknown, and police confirmed that the injured person was not a resident of the home.
Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames, which were contained to an attached two-car garage and a vehicle parked in the driveway. A minor grass fire also ignited but was extinguished before it could spread further. Fortunately, there was no smoke damage reported inside the home, as stated by Fire Chief Todd Myers.
The Simsbury Fire Marshal’s Office, along with the State Fire Marshal’s Office and local police, are currently conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
