Silver Lake Twp, MN (February 25, 2025) – A motor vehicle accident with injuries was reported Monday afternoon at the intersection of MN Hwy 15 and 50th St in Silver Lake Township, Martin County.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene at approximately 1:48 p.m. following reports of a two-vehicle collision. According to authorities, a 2018 Chevy Equinox traveling eastbound on 50th St collided with a northbound 2005 GMC Yukon at the intersection.
Emergency crews, including Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Fairmont Fire Department, and Mayo Ambulance, provided assistance at the scene. The driver of the Chevy Equinox, identified as 62-year-old Patrick John Graif of Fairmont, MN, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Fairmont Hospital for treatment. The driver of the GMC Yukon, 47-year-old Jacob Thomas Fontenot of Milford, IA, was unharmed and did not require medical transport.
A passenger in the GMC Yukon, 46-year-old Noah Nathaniel Leiding of Ceylon, MN, was also uninjured. Officials confirmed that all individuals involved were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and no alcohol was involved.
The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the factors that contributed to the collision.
