Sgt. Brand Beatty with the Shepherdsville Police Department reported that several calls were made to authorities alerting them to a driver traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-65. Video footage captured moments before the collision shows the vehicle driving the wrong way. Shortly thereafter, the wrong-way driver struck another car, resulting in a fatal crash.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, blocking all lanes of traffic while investigations were conducted. Kentucky Transportation officials announced at 11:00 AM that the roadway would remain closed for an additional three to four hours as authorities worked to clear the scene and complete their investigation.
