Shelby County, OH – One Dead, One Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-75

Shelby County, OH (September 5, 2024) – A multi-vehicle accident on I-75 Wednesday, September 4, left a Strongsville man dead and another person injured. Iurie Chetrusca, 43, was driving a 2023 Volvo tractor-trailer when he was struck by a 2020 Freightliner, which had hit a 2015 International semi.

The Freightliner’s trailer and cab, as well as the Volvo, caught fire after the collision. The driver of the International semi was uninjured, while the Freightliner driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Saint Rita’s Medical Center.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available
