Sheboygan, WI (December 3, 2024) – A Sheboygan police officer was injured in a rollover crash while attempting to stop a speeding vehicle Sunday night. The incident occurred on the northeast side of Sheboygan shortly before 8:15 p.m. According to authorities, the officer had activated the squad car’s emergency lights and sirens in pursuit of a suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle fled the scene, and during the attempt to locate the vehicle, the suspect ran a two-way stop sign and collided with the officer’s squad car, causing it to roll over.
The driver of the suspect vehicle, a 25-year-old Sheboygan man, remained at the scene after the crash. He was arrested on several charges, including fleeing and eluding an officer, operating under the influence of a restricted controlled substance, and failing to stop at a stop sign.
The officer involved in the crash suffered minor injuries. After receiving medical care at a local hospital, the officer was released. The driver of the suspect vehicle, along with two passengers, also sustained minor injuries but declined treatment.
