Sharp Co, AR (December 6, 2024) – Emergency responders were dispatched to a fatal accident late last night on U.S. Highway 167 near East Maxville Road. The crash occurred at 10:57 p.m. when a pedestrian, later identified as 29-year-old Sandi Zahn of Batesville, was struck and killed by a northbound vehicle. The incident resulted in the tragic death of Ms. Zahn, and no additional injuries were reported in the accident.
According to the initial narrative, the Dodge Ram, traveling northbound on U.S. 167 toward Evening Shade, collided with Ms. Zahn as she walked in the northbound lane of traffic. The front left side of the vehicle impacted the pedestrian, leading to her fatal injuries. Weather conditions at the time of the crash were clear, and the road was dry.
The Arkansas State Police, under the investigation of Trooper Quinton Maag, responded to the scene. Ms. Zahn’s body has been taken to Qualls Funeral Home. The family of the deceased has been notified. At this time, the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
