Sequoyah County, OK (October 31, 2024)– A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday night at the intersection of S 4740 Rd and E 1130 Rd, resulting in one fatality and another individual in critical condition. The incident involved a 2002 Toyota Tundra and a 1998 Chevy Suburban, as reported by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).
According to investigators, the driver of the Chevy Suburban sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition with both internal and external injuries to the head and trunk. Unfortunately, the passenger in the Chevy, identified as 35-year-old Byron Bell, was pronounced dead upon arrival at Baptist Hospital in Fort Smith, AR.
Remarkably, no injuries were reported for the occupants of the Toyota Tundra. The cause of the accident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading to this tragic event.
