- A 25-year-old male – critical condition
- A 21-year-old male – satisfactory condition
- A 20-year-old female – critical condition
SPD continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash and determine whether the suspect in custody is the responsible driver.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims, and we wish them a full recovery.
Pedestrian Accidents in Washington
Pedestrian accidents, especially those involving hit-and-run drivers, often result in severe or fatal injuries. High-traffic areas such as Seattle’s University District pose increased risks to pedestrians due to high-speed corridors, congested intersections, and negligent driving behaviors.
According to the Washington Traffic Safety Commission (WTSC), pedestrian fatalities and serious injuries have been on the rise in urban areas. Common causes of pedestrian crashes include:
- Failure to yield at crosswalks
- Running red lights and stop signs
- Speeding in pedestrian-heavy zones
- Distracted or impaired driving
In hit-and-run accidents, victims and their families often face legal and financial challenges, especially when seeking compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and long-term care. Identifying and prosecuting hit-and-run drivers is essential in holding negligent parties accountable.
