Seaside, CA (September 24, 2024) – A tragic high-speed crash occurred on Sunday night, September 22, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including a pedestrian. The incident took place around 10:15 p.m. when a vehicle was reported to be speeding on Del Monte Boulevard at approximately 100 mph.
According to police, the vehicle veered onto the island near Fremont Boulevard, where it struck a male pedestrian who was unhoused. Following the initial collision, the car continued onto Fremont Boulevard, crashing through the raised partition for the left turn lane. The vehicle then rolled and came to a stop in the dirt on the northeast corner of Fremont Boulevard and Military Avenue.
Witnesses described the scene as chaotic and frightening. Chris Bebawi, a witness, stated, “They were crying. They were torn to pieces. Everybody was just really like it was really chaotic. It was really scary to see.”
