Scottsboro, AL (February 1, 2025) – A serious collision between a train and a vehicle at a railroad crossing on Kyle Street left multiple people injured Friday night, according to the Scottsboro Police Department (SPD).
The crash was reported at 8:51 p.m., prompting an emergency response from SPD, fire crews, and paramedics. Authorities stated that a westbound Norfolk Southern train struck a northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee as it crossed the tracks, causing the vehicle to overturn and eject one of the occupants.
The driver of the Jeep was identified as 24-year-old Cameron Jones from Section, Alabama. Three additional passengers, ranging from ages 8 to 12, were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
All four individuals were transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. Their current conditions have not been released. No injuries were reported among the train crew.
SPD has confirmed that the cause of the crash is under active investigation, and further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
