Scottsbluff, NE (September 4, 2024) – Two people, Buford Williams, 88, and Benita Williams, 81, were killed in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday, September 4. The collision occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy 26 and Ave I when a Nissan Versa, turning north, collided with a westbound Mazda pickup.
Both occupants of the Nissan were transported to Regional West Medical Center, where they succumbed to their injuries. The Mazda driver, a 74-year-old from Mitchell, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries but has since been released.
Authorities are reconstructing the crash scene, and the investigation remains ongoing.
