The incident took place just before 2 p.m., as reported by the Utah Division of Transportation.
According to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cam Roden, a semi-truck traveling east struck a pickup truck that was headed in the opposite direction at mile marker 17, north of the reservoir. Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of the pickup lost control of the vehicle on ice-covered roads, veering into the eastbound lane and colliding head-on with the semi.

The driver of the pickup sustained injuries that were described as non-life-threatening and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the semi was also taken to a hospital in a private vehicle, although details regarding the severity of their injuries have not been disclosed.
