Schuyler, MO (November 1, 2024) – A serious vehicle collision occurred this morning on US Highway 136, approximately 5 miles west of Downing, at around 9:35 a.m. The incident prompted a response from local law enforcement and emergency services.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the crash involved a 2024 Freightliner truck tractor, driven by a 66-year-old male from Morehaven, FL, and a 2013 GMC Sierra truck, operated by a 32-year-old male from Memphis, MO. Both vehicles were traveling westbound when the driver of the Freightliner slowed to make a left turn. The GMC Sierra, unable to stop in time, struck the Freightliner in the rear, resulting in extensive damage to both vehicles.
