Savannah, MO (February 15, 2025) – A two-vehicle accident on US 71 near County Road 58, three miles north of Savannah, resulted in serious injuries on Saturday morning. The crash occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m., prompting an emergency response from local authorities and paramedics.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), both vehicles were traveling southbound on US 71 when a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 towing a gooseneck horse trailer began slowing down to make a right turn. A 2014 Chevrolet Impala, traveling behind it, collided with the rear of the trailer unit, causing significant damage.
Emergency responders, including Andrew County Ambulance Services, provided medical attention at the scene. The 20-year-old female driver of the Impala sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for further treatment. The 31-year-old male driver of the Silverado was uninjured and was able to drive his vehicle away from the scene.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
