Sauk Rapids, MN (January 17, 2025) – Emergency responders were quick to the scene of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of northbound Highway 23 and 47th Ave NE in Benton County. The incident occurred at approximately 1:12 p.m., involving a 2007 Freightliner Stepvan and a 2010 Toyota Camry.
The collision happened as the Freightliner Stepvan was crossing the southbound lanes of Highway 23 while the Toyota Camry traveled southbound on the same highway. The vehicles collided at the intersection, prompting a swift response from Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Sauk Rapids Fire, and Mayo Ambulance.
Emergency responders assessed and treated the individuals involved in the crash. Rashanda Marie Williamson, a 37-year-old passenger in the Toyota Camry, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Saint Cloud Hospital for further care. The drivers of both vehicles, Debbie Jean Renstrom, 31, of Saint Joseph, and Reany Sara Theis, 21, of Saint Cloud, were reportedly uninjured. Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Investigators noted that alcohol was not a factor in this collision, and the road conditions were dry at the time of the incident.
