Sarver, PA (December 23, 2024) – Emergency responders were dispatched to a serious two-vehicle crash with possible entrapment on Ekastown Rd at Sarver Rd on Monday night. The incident, reported at approximately 8:36 PM, involved heavy front-end damage to both vehicles and multiple injuries.
Units from Stations 27, 36, and 70, including EMS, responded to the scene, with Station 45 providing additional coverage. Upon arrival, Lt-27-2 confirmed one patient with heavy difficulty breathing, another with a leg wound, and one reportedly uninjured. The crash occurred in front of the NAPA Auto Parts, leading to a full closure of Ekastown Rd for emergency operations.
Emergency crews worked to stabilize the vehicles, disconnect batteries, and provide medical care. LifeFlight (LF-4) was initially placed on standby but later released as air transport was deemed unnecessary. Traffic was redirected at Coal Hollow and Sarver Rd intersections while responders secured the scene.
By 9:16 PM, multiple patients were transported to Allegheny General Hospital (AGH), including by Medic 273 and 45-2. Additional units remained to provide advanced life support (ALS) coverage. The road was reopened at approximately 9:36 PM, and the incident was declared terminated.
